Beaufort History Museum

StoneToolsThe Beaufort History Museum continues to be the repository of Beaufort’s manmade history. Artifacts represent Native American settlements, the earliest Spanish settlement on Parris Island during 1566-1587, successive European settlement, antebellum development as a thriving resort and commercial center, Union occupation during the Civil War and the early 20th century industries of phosphate mining, truck farming, fishing, shrimping and oystering.
